NOTE:
Mi Jingyang (1936-2023), courtesy name Xingxi, studio names Fanghu Zhai and Mushi Xuan, was a native of Beijing. He began working at Rong Bao Zhai in the 1950s and spent over forty years there, witnessing and participating in more than half a century of public and private collections of Chinese calligraphy and painting. During this time, he interacted with and forged relationships with many contemporary masters of calligraphy and painting. Since the 1980s, Mi dedicated himself to study and creation, specializing in freehand flower-and-bird paintings. He held solo exhibitions in the United States, Japan, and regions such as Hong Kong and Taiwan. After retirement, he made significant contributions in the fields of art appraisal and collection, serving as an art consultant for Rong Bao Zhai and as the chief expert in the expert group of the China Cultural Relics Protection Foundation.
